What You Will Learn

CompTIA Project Management Essentials covers the core practices needed to plan, organize, track, and close workplace projects. The course is suitable for people who lead small initiatives, support project teams, or need a shared project management baseline across a department. Learning is typically delivered through self-paced e-learning, hands-on practice, realistic scenarios, and a competency assessment.

  • Project roles, including project manager, sponsor, stakeholders, and team members

Module 2: Project Initiation and Stakeholders

  • Defining project goals, expected outcomes, constraints, and success criteria

Module 4: Execution, Communication, and Closure

  • Communicating status, changes, and decisions clearly

  • Closing a project, confirming completion, documenting lessons learned, and handing over outcomes

After completion, participants should be able to apply basic project management methods to everyday projects, contribute more effectively to project teams, and support consistent planning and delivery practices in the workplace.

Certification & Exam

Participants who complete CompTIA Project Management Essentials can earn a downloadable CompTIA Competency Certificate, CompCert. The process covers a short learning experience with video, text, interactive activities, hands-on scenarios, and AI-powered project situations, followed by a competency assessment of about 30 minutes. The certificate confirms foundational ability in project life cycle concepts, project initiation, planning, task coordination, communication, risk awareness, monitoring, and project closure. It is an entry-level credential for professionals who support or manage everyday projects, and it should not be confused with the separate CompTIA Project+ certification for IT project management roles.
