HERMES Certification Path
HERMES is the official project-management method used widely in Switzerland, especially in public-sector and IT projects. The certification path helps you understand and apply the method in real projects.
1. HERMES Foundation
This is where everyone starts.
You learn the basics of the method, including project phases, roles, tasks, modules and standard project scenarios.
After your preparation, you take the Foundation exam. When you pass, you receive the HERMES Foundation certificate, which confirms your ability to work in a HERMES-based project environment.
2. HERMES Advanced
With your Foundation knowledge, you can deepen your skills for project leadership roles.
The Advanced exam includes theoretical questions and scenario-based tasks that test your ability to apply HERMES in practice.
When you pass, you receive the HERMES Advanced certificate, which is valid for five years.
3. Applying HERMES in Projects
With these certificates, you can work effectively in organisations that use HERMES for planning and executing projects.
Certified professionals support structured execution, clear responsibilities and consistent project governance.
4. HERMES 2022 – Advanced Level (Recertification)
This step is for professionals who already hold the Advanced certificate and want to keep it valid under the updated HERMES 2022 standard.
To renew your certification, you submit proof of continuing education and relevant project-management experience.
After approval, you receive the HERMES Advanced Recertification, extending your certificate for another five years.
