The ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification is the cornerstone of essential testing knowledge that can be applied to real-world scenarios. The syllabus provides a comprehensive understanding of the terminology and concepts used in the testing domain worldwide, making it relevant for all software delivery approaches and practices, including Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery.
CTFL certification is recognized as a prerequisite to all other ISTQB® certifications where the Foundation Level is required.
What You Will Learn
The ISTQB CTFL curriculum forms the basis for the international qualification in software testing at Foundation Level. The course is divided into six modules:
Module 1-Introduction to Software Testing
Module 2-Testing Throughout the Software Development Lifecycle
Module 3-Static Testing
Module 4-Test Design Techniques
Module 5-Test Management
Module 6-Tool Support for Testing
Certification & Exam
This course prepares you for the ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) v4.0 certification. The exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you need at least 26 out of 40 points (65%). There are no formal prerequisites or prior ISTQB certifications required for the CTFL exam.
After passing the exam, you will receive the CTFL certificate. It confirms your foundational knowledge of software testing, including test fundamentals, test analysis and design, test activities, test tools, and the role of testing in the software development process. The CTFL certification is also the basis for further ISTQB certifications in the Core, Agile, and Specialist areas.
