The ISTQB Certified Tester Expert Level Test Management (CTEL-TM) qualification includes three modules: Strategic Test Management, Operational Test Management, and Managing the Test Team. Separate exams are required for each, and all three must be completed for full certification. An Expert Level certificate remains valid for seven years.
This Operational Test Management (OTM) module focuses on managing third-party relationships, covering contracts, communication, and quality verification. The course teaches project management skills including risk management and moderating retrospective meetings. Participants learn to use metrics and exit criteria to report and interpret test results. The syllabus also details how to manage the test process and address release considerations.

Certification & Exam
This training prepares you for the official exam for the ISTQB® Certified Tester Expert Level Test Management Operational Test Management (CTEL-TM-OTM). To get the certificate, you need a valid ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certificate, the ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Manager (CTAL-TM) certificate, at least five years of practical experience in software testing, at least two years of experience in test management, and a passed expert-level exam.
The certification confirms knowledge in operational test management, including external relationships, project risk management, test project evaluation, reporting, metrics, and release aspects. Note: For the full CTEL-TM certification, all three parts are required: Strategic Test Management, Operational Test Management, and Managing the Test Team.
