The International Usability and User Experience Qualification Board (UXQB®) is an international consortium of usability and user experience experts. The goal of the UXQB is the further development and administration of the certification program “CPUX – Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience”. CPUX is an international standard for qualification of usability and user experience professionals.
UXQB Certification Path
The UXQB CPUX certification system gives you a clear and structured path to build professional UX skills. It is internationally recognised and designed for anyone working with user experience, usability or human-centred design.
1. CPUX-F: Foundation Level
This is where everyone starts.
You learn the fundamentals of usability and human-centred design, including user needs, context of use, requirements, design principles and basic evaluation methods.
After the training, you take the CPUX-F exam and receive your Foundation certificate, which allows you to continue with advanced UX modules.
2. Advanced Modules
With the Foundation certificate, you can specialise in the areas that match your role:
CPUX-UR: User requirements and user research
CPUX-DS: Designing UX solutions and creating prototypes
CPUX-UT: Usability testing and evaluation
CPUX-M: UX management and leadership
Each module ends with its own exam. Some modules include both a theory exam and a practical assignment to verify hands-on skills.
3. Professional UX Profile
By combining the Foundation level with one or more advanced certificates, you build a strong, recognised professional UX profile.
You choose the modules that fit your development path, whether you focus on research, design, testing or UX management.
Summary
CPUX-F → choose your advanced module → complete theory and practical exams where required → build your professional UX certification path
