It also covers testing in virtual environments (including XiL), and automotive-specific static and dynamic test techniques.

What You Will Learn
According to the official syllabus (current version v2.1), CT-AuT is structured into seven main chapters:
Chapter 1- Introduction to Automotive Software Testing
Chapter 2- Standards for the Testing of Electric/Electronic (E/E) Systems
Chapter 3- Testing in a Virtual Environment
Chapter 4- Static Testing and Dynamic Testing
Certification & Exam
After you complete an accredited CT-AuT training, you receive recognition for your specialization in automotive software testing. These points count toward the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level – Automotive Software Tester certification.
To become eligible for the full CT-AuT certification you must:
Already hold the CTFL (Foundation Level) certificate.
Have professional experience in testing automotive E/E systems or related domains.
Be prepared to pass the CT-AuT exam, following the syllabus v2.1 which covers standards like ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE®, AUTOSAR®, virtual and hardware-in-the-loop testing, and static/dynamic techniques.
After you meet those prerequisites and pass the exam, you receive the CT-AuT certificate, confirming your competence in automotive software testing.
What You Will Achieve
Foundation Level testers who have passed the “CTFL Automotive Software Tester Specialist” syllabus exam should be able to accomplish the following Business Objectives:
Collaborate effectively in a test team;
Adapt the test techniques known from the ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL®) to the specific automotive project requirements;
Consider the basic requirements of the relevant automotive standards (Automotive SPICE®, ISO 26262, etc.) and select suitable test techniques;
Apply the virtual test methods (e.g. HiL, SiL, MiL, etc.) in test environments.
