The SAFe® Practice Consultant-T certification remains an advanced trainer path for experienced SAFe® Practice Consultants with deep Scaled Agile Framework®, Lean-Agile consulting, training delivery, coaching, and enterprise implementation experience.
While intake and related live assessment components are paused, published requirements continue to emphasize nomination evidence, field experience, required readings, SAFe Studio artifacts, course feedback, and observed teaching.
What You Will Learn
SPCT Certification Program Content
The SAFe® Practice Consultant-T (SPCT) certification is Scaled Agile’s highest certification level. It is intended for experienced SAFe® Practice Consultants who can show deep field experience in enterprise Agile adoption, Lean-Agile coaching, consulting, and training.
Core Topic Areas
Enterprise SAFe implementation: Applying the Scaled Agile Framework® across large organizations, including guidance for Lean-Agile transformation and adoption.
Advanced SAFe consulting: Working with leadership teams, advising organizations, and supporting complex implementation needs across multiple business and technology groups.
SAFe training capability: Demonstrating expert-level training skills, strong learner feedback, and the ability to teach SAFe content to professional audiences.
SPC development: Preparing to train aspiring SAFe® Practice Consultants, a responsibility reserved for certified SPCTs.
Field experience validation: Review of SAFe delivery experience, including recent training and consulting work with multiple organizations.
Candidate Requirements and Practical Focus
The pathway requires significant professional experience, including Lean-Agile work, product development or systems engineering experience, SAFe consulting, and training delivery. Candidates must be nominated by a Scaled Agile Gold Partner or an eligible enterprise with a SAFe Learner Subscription of 500 or more.
After certification, SPCTs are recognized by Scaled Agile as senior SAFe trainers, trusted advisors, and transformation architects. They are authorized to train future SAFe® Practice Consultants and support enterprise-level SAFe adoption.
Certification & Exam
Certification: Participants who complete the required Scaled Agile SPCT pathway may be considered for the SAFe® Practice Consultant-T (SPCT) credential, the highest certification level offered by Scaled Agile. SPCT candidates must already be experienced SAFe Practice Consultants and are nominated through a Scaled Agile Gold Partner or an enterprise with a qualifying SAFe learner subscription.
Scaled Agile does not list a standard timed multiple-choice exam, question count, passing score, or fixed question types for SPCT on the public certification page.
Assessment is program-based and includes nomination review, screening interviews, Immersion Week, field experience, required readings, teaching SAFe classes, and a final pairing test where candidates co-teach Implementing SAFe® with an SPCT guide.

Topics covered include team and ART roles, ScrumXP, Kanban, Iteration Planning, PI Planning, collaboration with other teams, and continuous improvement.
