TMMi Professional

The TMMi Professional certification validates theoretical knowledge of the Test Maturity Model integration (TMMi) and the business reasons for test process improvement. It is intended for people who work with the model, including test process improvers, test consultants, TMMi (lead-)assessors, test managers, and Test Process Group members, as well as stakeholders who need a clear understanding of TMMi.
The level focuses on knowledge and understanding (K1-K2), not assessment execution, and is a prerequisite knowledge level for those aiming to become an accredited TMMi Assessor or Lead Assessor.
TMMi Professional covers the theoretical foundation of Test Maturity Model integration (TMMi) at K1-K2 levels only (remember and understand, not apply). Candidates learn to:
Explain why organizations invest in test process improvement, including business reasons, what parts of testing can be improved, and typical TMMi costs and benefits.
Summarize the TMMi background, including the structure of CMMI V1.3, testing-relevant aspects of CMMI V2, staged vs continuous representations, key sources used to develop TMMi, the Gelperin and Hetzel testing evolution, and TMMi scope as lifecycle independent.
Describe TMMi maturity levels and process areas, and how they fit together.
Explain the TMMi model structure, including required, expected, and informative components, generic goals, institutionalization (GG2 and GG3), and the relationship between TMMi and CMMI V2.
Summarize process areas, goals, and recognize practices across TMMi Levels 2-5, plus how TMMi is interpreted in Agile, how assessments support improvement (informal vs formal and the generic process), and the phases for implementing TMMi (initiating, diagnosing, establishing, acting, learning).
