Certification & Exam
This course prepares participants for the AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer, Associate exam, exam code SOA-C03. The certification is for cloud operations professionals who deploy, manage, troubleshoot, secure, and operate workloads on AWS.
The exam is an Associate-level, pass or fail assessment delivered through a Pearson VUE test center or online proctoring. It lasts 130 minutes and includes 65 questions, with multiple-choice and multiple-response formats. Of these, 50 questions are scored and 15 are unscored. Results are reported on a scaled score from 100 to 1,000, with a minimum passing score of 720.
Upon passing, candidates earn the AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer, Associate credential. For current details, see the official AWS certification page.
What You Will Achieve
Implement monitoring, logging, and remediation controls using Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config, alarms, metrics, logs, and event-driven responses to identify operational issues and support routine AWS workload operations.
Analyze performance and operational data from AWS services such as Amazon EC2, Elastic Load Balancing, Amazon EBS, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and AWS Compute Optimizer to find bottlenecks and recommend practical configuration changes.
Implement reliable and resilient AWS environments using Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, Multi-AZ designs, health checks, backup policies, and restore procedures that support defined recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives.
Deploy and maintain cloud resources with automation using AWS CloudFormation, AWS Systems Manager, AWS CLI, and infrastructure as code practices to provision, update, and manage AWS resources in a repeatable manner.
Configure security and compliance controls using AWS Identity and Access Management, AWS Organizations service control policies, AWS Key Management Service, AWS Secrets Manager, AWS Config rules, and encryption settings for data and infrastructure protection.
Implement networking and content delivery configurations using Amazon VPC, subnets, route tables, security groups, network ACLs, NAT gateways, VPC endpoints, Amazon Route 53, Amazon CloudFront, and Elastic Load Balancing.
Troubleshoot AWS operations scenarios across monitoring, reliability, automation, security, and networking domains by interpreting metrics, logs, permissions, connectivity paths, and service health indicators.
Assess readiness for the SOA-C03 exam by mapping hands-on cloud operations tasks to the official exam domains: Monitoring, Logging, Analysis, Remediation, and Performance Optimization; Reliability and Business Continuity; Deployment, Provisioning, and Automation; Security and Compliance; and Networking and Content Delivery.
