Module 4: Cost and Exam Readiness
Review cost controls with AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, Spot Instances, storage tiers, and data transfer choices.
Use case studies, architecture diagrams, guided labs where offered, and practice questions to assess readiness for the certification exam.
Certification & Exam
This course prepares participants for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Associate certification exam. The exam is an Associate-level AWS Certification focused on designing cost and performance optimized solutions on AWS.
It includes 65 questions in multiple-choice and multiple-response formats, with a total exam time of 130 minutes. Candidates can take the exam through a Pearson VUE test center or as an online proctored exam.
After passing, participants earn an AWS Certification that is valid for 3 years. Reference: official AWS certification page.
What You Will Achieve
Design AWS solutions that align with the AWS Well-Architected Framework, including secure, resilient, high-performing, and cost-optimized architecture choices for the SAA-C03 exam scope.
Apply secure access patterns using IAM, AWS IAM Identity Center, AWS STS, service control policies, resource policies, MFA, and least privilege access across single-account and multi-account AWS environments.
Implement security controls for workloads, networks, and data using VPC design, public and private subnets, security groups, network ACLs, AWS WAF, AWS Shield, AWS Secrets Manager, AWS KMS, ACM, backups, and replication.
Design resilient architectures with loose coupling, event-driven patterns, microservices, multi-tier designs, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, Amazon EventBridge, AWS Step Functions, load balancing, failover, and disaster recovery strategies based on RPO and RTO requirements.
Select suitable compute, storage, database, and networking services, including Amazon EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, Amazon S3, Amazon EBS, Amazon EFS, Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon VPC, Route 53, CloudFront, VPN, Direct Connect, and PrivateLink.
Analyze workload requirements to choose architecture patterns for elastic compute, storage performance, database access patterns, caching with Amazon ElastiCache, read replicas, data ingestion with Amazon Kinesis, data processing with Amazon EMR, and transformation with AWS Glue.
Evaluate cost choices across storage, compute, databases, and networking using AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, AWS Cost and Usage Report, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, Spot Instances, storage classes, lifecycle policies, VPC endpoints, NAT gateway options, and data transfer patterns.
