After completing the course, participants should be able to configure, secure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco-based networks while assessing readiness for the Cisco Certified Network Associate exam.
Certification & Exam
Participants can earn the CompTIA Cisco Networking Pro V8 competency certificate by completing the course and passing its integrated competency assessment.
The assessment is practical, with performance-based lab questions that simulate networking tasks rather than relying only on theory. It includes up to 15 lab questions with up to 45 tasks, and candidates have 120 minutes to complete it. Scores range from 200 to 2000, with a passing score of 1350.
The course also supports preparation for the Cisco CCNA 200-301 exam, although the CCNA exam is separate and must be scheduled through Cisco’s official exam process.

What You Will Achieve
Apply OSI and TCP/IP concepts to explain network communication, map common protocols to network layers, and interpret how data moves across wired and wireless networks.
Configure IPv4 addressing, subnetting, VLANs, Ethernet settings, and basic network topologies for small to mid-sized Cisco network environments.
Implement Cisco router and switch configurations, including routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and RIP, plus Spanning Tree Protocol features and inter-VLAN routing.
Secure network devices and traffic using access control lists, VPN concepts, port security, device hardening, and wired and wireless security controls.
Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, switching, and wireless issues using tools and methods such as ping, traceroute, packet analyzers, configuration review, and structured fault isolation.
Configure wireless networks with attention to relevant standards, protocols, authentication methods, and security settings.
Evaluate network automation concepts, including AI, machine learning, intent-based networking, Terraform, and Cisco DNA Center, in relation to Cisco network management tasks.
Prepare for CCNA 200-301 aligned networking tasks through practice with hands-on simulations, scenario-based activities, and performance-based assessment formats.
