  • Use Windows Admin Center, Event Viewer, Performance Monitor, Azure Monitor, and Process Explorer to diagnose server issues.

After completion, participants should be able to secure, monitor, migrate, back up, recover, and troubleshoot Windows Server workloads in hybrid environments.

Certification & Exam

This course prepares participants for the CompTIA Hybrid Server Pro II: Advanced CompCert, a Certificate of Competency focused on practical hybrid Windows Server administration skills. To earn the CompCert, learners must complete the training requirements set by the provider and pass the included competency assessment.

The competency assessment uses performance-based, lab-style tasks to check applied ability. It includes up to 12 lab questions and up to 45 tasks, with a 120-minute time limit. Scores range from 200 to 2000, and the passing score is 1425.

Successful candidates receive the CompTIA Hybrid Server Pro II: Advanced Certificate of Competency, showing competency in high availability, disaster recovery, hybrid identity, storage, security, monitoring, and troubleshooting. See the official CompTIA certification page for current details.

What You Will Achieve

  • Administer Windows Server environments across on-premises, Azure, and hybrid configurations using tools such as Windows Admin Center, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, VM Insights, and Azure Diagnostics Extension.

  • Secure Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory accounts by configuring Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Exploit Protection, Credential Guard, SmartScreen, Windows Defender Application Control, Group Policy, and account security settings.

  • Implement storage and data protection controls, including BitLocker, TPM-based protection, Data Recovery Agents, and disk encryption key management for infrastructure as a service virtual machines.

  • Configure backup and recovery services for Windows Server workloads using Azure Recovery Services vault, backup policies, VM restore options, Azure Site Recovery, and recovery plans.

  • Manage disaster recovery and replication scenarios for virtual machines, including Hyper-V Replica, offsite replication, Azure region replication, failover, and failback procedures.

  • Deploy high availability solutions with Windows Server failover clusters, including quorum settings, witnesses, cluster storage, Scale-Out File Server, node recovery, workload failover, and cluster-aware updating.

  • Migrate server workloads and file services from on-premises environments to Azure, including file shares, Hyper-V hosts, and virtual machines.

  • Troubleshoot Windows Server, Azure virtual machine, monitoring, Active Directory, and hybrid infrastructure issues using event logs, performance counters, service management tools, and Microsoft monitoring services.
