Part 5- Container and orchestration security — Docker, Kubernetes and secure deployment of containers

Part 6- CI/CD pipeline security — integrating security tools into build, test and deployment pipelines

Part 7- Cloud security practices for DevSecOps — secure cloud configuration, identity and access management, secrets and key management

Part 8- Runtime security monitoring — logging, threat detection, vulnerability scanning and automated response

Part 9- Incident response and secure operations — vulnerability management, patching, rollback procedures and security governance

Part 10- Compliance, audit and governance in DevSecOps — compliance standards, security policies, access controls and audit readiness

Certification & Exam

After you complete the ECDE training, you can register for the ECDE certification exam. The exam checks your ability to apply security across the full DevOps lifecycle, including secure coding, automated security testing, pipeline security, container security and cloud-native operations.

The exam consists of multiple-choice questions and hands-on practical tasks. You must reach the required passing score to earn the certification. The exam can be taken through remote proctoring or at an authorised testing centre.

When you pass the exam, you receive the ECDE certificate, confirming your skills in DevSecOps practices, secure development processes, CI/CD security and cloud-native security engineering.

What You Will Achieve

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Apply DevSecOps principles across the full development and operations lifecycle

  • Use automated security testing tools to detect vulnerabilities early in the pipeline

  • Secure containerised and cloud-native environments, including Docker and Kubernetes

  • Implement secure Infrastructure as Code and validate configurations before deployment

  • Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and automate security checks

  • Monitor runtime environments, detect threats and respond effectively to incidents
