Certification & Exam

After completing the training, you can take the CPUX-DS Designing Solutions exam. You must already hold the CPUX-F Foundation certificate, because CPUX-F is the official prerequisite for all advanced exams. Some providers can book the exam for you.

The exam has 40 questions, each worth one point. To pass the exam and receive the CPUX-DS Advanced Level certificate, you need at least 28 points, which equals 70 percent.

You can take the exam through UXQB accredited bodies such as ISQI, Certible or other recognised exam providers.

Here are the outcomes for the CPUX‑DS (Designing Solutions) certification, based on the official curriculum:

  • You will be able to apply a human-centred design approach to producing design solutions. 

  • You will be able to create interaction specifications and use scenarios to describe how an interactive system will be used, based on the context of use and user requirements. 

  • You will be able to design information architectures that support efficient access to information and functionality. 

  • You will be able to design navigation structures, sketches, wire-frames, wire-flows, low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes of user interfaces. 

  • You will be able to consider and integrate specific human needs like accessibility, design ethics and cultural diversity into your design activities. 

  • You will be able to manage the broader design process aspects, such as stakeholder management, documenting design decisions and iteration of design solutions.
