What You Will Learn

This training teaches you how to protect, monitor and defend networks using real security tools and practical defensive strategies.

Part 1- Network security fundamentals, attacker techniques and the defender’s role

Part 2- Network protocols, traffic analysis and identifying abnormal behaviour

Part 3- Securing network perimeter devices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS and VPN technologies

Part 4- Endpoint security, hardening Windows and Linux systems and reducing attack surfaces

Part 5- Network security policies, access control, authentication and secure configurations

Part 6- Wireless network security, secure Wi-Fi design and common wireless attack detection

Part 7- Monitoring and detection using logs, SIEM tools, traffic captures and event correlation

Part 8- Incident response, threat handling, containment and recovery procedures

Part 9- Cloud and virtual network security, securing hybrid and on-prem environments

Part 10- Business continuity, disaster recovery and preparing organisations for resilience

Certification & Exam

After you complete the CND training, you can register for the CND certification exam. The exam tests your ability to secure networks, detect threats and apply defensive measures in real environments.

The exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions and lasts 4 hours. You must reach the required passing score to earn the certification. The exam can be taken at an authorised test centre or through remote proctoring.

When you pass the exam, you receive the CND certificate, confirming your skills in network defence, monitoring, incident handling and security operations.

What You Will Achieve

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Secure and harden networks, endpoints and perimeter devices using industry-standard practices

  • Monitor network traffic and detect suspicious or malicious activity

  • Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs and other defensive technologies

  • Respond to network incidents and apply containment and recovery steps

  • Implement security policies, access controls and secure configurations

  • Support secure operations across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments
