Certification & Exam

After you complete the CHFI training, you can register for the CHFI certification exam. The exam tests your ability to investigate security incidents, collect and analyse digital evidence and apply forensic techniques across different platforms.

The exam includes 150 multiple-choice questions and lasts 4 hours. You must reach the required passing score to earn the CHFI certification. The exam can be taken through an approved testing centre or via remote proctoring.

When you pass the exam, you receive the CHFI certificate, confirming your skills in digital forensics, evidence acquisition, investigation procedures and forensic reporting.

What You Will Achieve

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Perform a complete digital forensic investigation from initial response to final reporting

  • Collect, preserve and analyse digital evidence across computers, networks, mobile devices and cloud environments

  • Identify traces of cyber attacks, recover deleted or hidden data and detect anti-forensic techniques

  • Examine operating systems, logs, memory and file systems to uncover forensic artefacts
