Certification & Exam

After you complete the ECIH training, you can register for the ECIH certification exam. The exam tests your ability to identify, contain and respond to different types of security incidents using a structured incident-handling framework.

The exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions and lasts 3 hours. You must achieve the required passing score to earn the certification. The exam can be taken online through remote proctoring or at an authorised testing centre.

When you pass the exam, you receive the ECIH certificate, confirming your skills in incident detection, analysis, response coordination and post-incident management.

What You Will Achieve

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • identify and analyse different types of cybersecurity incidents across systems, networks and applications

  • apply a structured incident-handling process from preparation to recovery

  • collect, preserve and document digital evidence according to forensic and legal standards

  • respond effectively to malware infections, email attacks, network intrusions and cloud-based incidents

  • manage insider threats, endpoint breaches and IoT/OT security events
