Certification & Exam

After completing the DevSecOps Essentials course, you can take the DSE certification exam. The exam evaluates your understanding of secure development concepts, DevOps fundamentals and the principles and practices of DevSecOps.

The exam consists of multiple choice questions delivered through an EC-Council approved testing platform. The passing score follows EC-Council’s cut-score method, which means the required percentage can vary depending on the difficulty of the specific exam form.

There are no prerequisites for the exam, which makes the certification accessible for beginners or professionals who want to build foundational DevSecOps knowledge. Once you pass, you receive the DSE certificate, confirming your ability to apply essential security principles to development workflows and integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.

What You Will Achieve

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • understand how modern applications are built, tested and maintained across the development lifecycle

  • recognise common application security risks and apply fundamental secure coding practices

  • explain the principles of DevOps and how automation improves software delivery

  • apply DevSecOps concepts by integrating security early in the development and deployment process

  • use key DevSecOps tools for source control, build automation, CI/CD and configuration management

  • embed automated security testing into CI/CD pipelines, including static and dynamic analysis

  • apply secure build, release and deployment practices in a DevSecOps workflow

  • monitor applications and environments, interpret security feedback and support continuous improvement in secure development
