What You Will Learn

The ITIL Strategic Leader designation pathway includes three required modules: ITIL Foundation (Version 5), ITIL Strategy (Version 5), and ITIL Transformation (Version 5). Module structure follows the ITIL certification pathway published by ITIL.

Module 1: ITIL Foundation (Version 5)

  • Core ITIL concepts, models, and principles for digital product and service management

  • How value is created, delivered, and sustained through services

  • Foundation knowledge required before progressing to advanced ITIL certifications

Module 2: ITIL Strategy (Version 5)

Module 3: ITIL Transformation (Version 5)

  • Transformation delivery across digital products and services

Training providers may deliver these topics through instructor-led sessions, digital learning, case discussions, exam preparation, and applied exercises. After completing the required modules and exams, participants can work toward the ITIL Strategic Leader designation and apply ITIL practices to strategy, governance, transformation, and service management roles.

Certification & Exam

The current ITIL Strategic Leader (Version 5) designation is achieved by completing ITIL Foundation (Version 5), ITIL Strategy (Version 5), and ITIL Transformation (Version 5). For the advanced modules, candidates must complete training through an Accredited Training Organization or ITIL Official eLearning before exam results are released.

  • ITIL Strategy (Version 5): 40 multiple-choice questions, 90 minutes, open book, 70% pass mark.

  • ITIL Transformation (Version 5): 40 multiple-choice questions, 90 minutes, open book, 70% pass mark.
