The ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification is the cornerstone of essential testing knowledge that can be applied to real-world scenarios. ISTQB® Certified Tester Expert Level Test Management Managing the Test Team (CTEL-TM-MTT)
The Managing the Test Team (MTT) module is one of three components of the ISTQB® Expert Level Test Management (CTEL-TM) certification. Full CTEL-TM certification requires passing separate exams for this module, Strategic Test Management, and Operational Test Management. ISTQB® Expert Level certificates are valid for seven years.Content focuses on the people management skills used by Test Managers to build and lead teams. ISTQB® Certified Tester Expert Level Test Management Operational Test Management (CTEL-TM-OTM)
The ISTQB Certified Tester Expert Level Test Management (CTEL-TM) qualification includes three modules: Strategic Test Management, Operational Test Management, and Managing the Test Team. Separate exams are required for each, and all three must be completed for full certification. An Expert Level certificate remains valid for seven years.This Operational Test Management (OTM) module focuses on managing third-party relationships, covering contracts, communication, and quality verification. The course teaches project management skills including risk management and moderating retrospective meetings. Participants learn to use metrics and exit criteria to report and interpret test results. The syllabus also details how to manage the test process and address release considerations.
ISTQB® Certified Tester Expert Level Test Management Strategic Test Management (CTEL-TM-SM)
The ISTQB Expert Level Test Management (CTEL-TM) certification consists of three modules: Strategic Test Management, Operational Test Management, and Managing the Test Team. Candidates must pass separate exams for each part to receive the full certification, which remains valid for seven years.This Strategic Test Management course covers the test mission and the connection between test policy, strategy, and objectives. Participants learn to apply metrics for effectiveness and efficiency and manage tool integration across an organization. ISTQB® Certified Tester Expert Level Implementing Test Process Improvement (CTEL-ITP-ITPI)
The ISTQB® Expert Level Improving the Test Process (CTEL-ITP) certification comprises 2 parts: ‘Assessing the Test Process’ and ‘Implementing Test Process Improvement’. Note that separate certification exams are provided for each part, and both parts must be achieved to gain full certification in CTEL-ITP. ISTQB Certification Path
The ISTQB Certified Tester program is the most widely recognised path for building professional software testing skills. The structure is simple, flexible and supports both beginners and experienced testers.
1. Foundation Level (CTFL)
Everyone starts at the Foundation level.
You learn the basics of software testing, test design techniques, test management, and how testing supports quality throughout a project.
After the training, you take the CTFL exam. When you pass, you receive the ISTQB Foundation certificate, which opens the door to all advanced and specialist modules.
