The ISTQB® Foundation Level Agile Tester (CTFL-AT) certification provides the key testing skills necessary to successfully contribute to an Agile project. CTFL-AT covers agile testing in alignment with the principles of agile software development as outlined in the Agile Manifesto.
A tester on an Agile project will work differently than one working on a traditional project. Testers must understand the values and principles that underpin Agile projects, and how testers are an integral part of a whole-team approach together with developers and business representatives.
The CTFL-AT syllabus covers Agile testing topics such as:
Chapter 1- Agile Software Development
Chapter 2- Fundamental Agile Testing Principles, Practices, and Processes
Chapter 3- Differences between testing in traditional and Agile approaches
Chapter 4- Role and skills of a tester in an Agile team
Chapter 5- Agile testing methods, techniques, and tools
Chapter 6- Assessing quality risk and estimating test effort
No sessions available.
After you complete an accredited CTFL-AT (Foundation Level Agile Tester) training, you become eligible to take the official exam for the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Agile Tester certification.
To become eligible for the CTFL-AT certificate you must:
Hold or prepare for the CTFL (Foundation Level) certificate as per your national ISTQB board requirements.
Attend an accredited training or study the CTFL-AT syllabus v1.0 thoroughly.
Pass the CTFL-AT exam (typically 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, with extra time allowed for non-native speakers).
Once you pass the exam you receive the CTFL-AT certificate, which confirms your foundational knowledge in agile testing environments and your ability to contribute as a tester in agile projects.
A candidate who has achieved the Foundation Level certification should be able to:
Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team being familiar with principles and basic practices of Agile software development

The Advanced Level Test Analyst certification provides the skills needed to perform structured and thorough software testing across the software development life cycle. It details the test analyst’s role and responsibilities at every step of a standard test process and expands on important test techniques. It mainly focuses on functional testing but also discusses user-focused, non-functional testing.
The Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Automation Engineering (CTAL-TAE) qualification is aimed at anyone involved in software testing and test automation. This includes people in roles such as testers, test analysts, test automation engineers, test consultants, test architects, test managers, and software developers.
