Description

In the iSAQB® GREEN, Advanced Level course, you will learn to evaluate and design software architectures with regard to sustainability aspects. The focus is on energy requirements, CO₂ impact, Green IT principles, architectural decisions, cloud usage, and metrics for sustainable software systems. Depending on the provider, you will work with lectures, case studies, discussions, and practical exercises to justify technical decisions in a clear way. After completion, you can classify sustainability requirements in architectural work, derive improvements, and prepare specifically for the iSAQB® GREEN Advanced Level certification.

What You Will Learn

Participants will explore essential methods for energy-saving architecture design, cloud technologies, and data management. The course covers:

Part 1- Climate change, opportunities of digitalisation, role of IT, basic concepts

Part 2- Principles, regulation and effects on companies

Part 3- Quality

Part 4- Measurement and monitoring

Part 5- Software development

Part 6- Software architecture

Part 7- Operation

Part 8- Energy-efficient development process

Certification & Exam

After successful participation in a licensed iSAQB® GREEN Advanced Level training, you will receive an official confirmation of attendance with 10 credit points in the methodical competence area and 10 credit points in the technical competence area. You can use these points for admission to the iSAQB® CPSA-A certification.

For the CPSA-A exam, you also need a valid CPSA-F certificate, at least three years of full-time professional experience in IT, participation in the design and development of at least two different IT systems, and a total of at least 70 credit points from Advanced Level training courses. All three competence areas must be covered with at least 10 credit points each. The CPSA-A exam consists of a written assignment and an oral defense. The official iSAQB information on the CPSA-A exam applies.

What You Will Achieve

The goal of the iSAQB GREEN course is to equip participants with the knowledge to create sustainable and energy-efficient IT systems.

By the end of the training, participants will understand the key drivers of energy consumption in software and know how to design architectures that minimize environmental impact.

Graduates of this module will:

  • CO₂ optimization: Understanding carbon footprints and how to reduce emissions in IT environments.

  • Cloud-native architectures: Learn how to deploy and manage cloud applications with minimal energy consumption.

  • Green IT patterns: Techniques and best practices for optimizing the energy efficiency of software systems.

  • Measuring tools: Methods to assess and monitor energy consumption in software and hardware.

This hands-on training gives participants practical experience in building energy-efficient systems and managing their impact on the environment.
