Description

The focus of the Advanced Level FLEX iSAQB® training is the design of flexible architecture models. Since the requirements for modern software are changing faster and faster these days, flexible architectures are helpful.

In the FLEX iSAQB® training, the software architects get to know and understand topics such as "Microservices" or "Self-contained Systems" in a pragmatic way.

What You Will Learn

In our curriculum, the iSAQB has defined the following six areas of competence for the (CPSA)® Advanced Level Module FLEX:

Part 1-Why approach Flexible Systems

Part 2-Modularization of Systems of Systems

Part 3-Software Modules and the Organisation

Part 4-Integration Methods & Protocols

Part 5-Deployment & Runtime/ Platform Methods

Part 6-Service Operation Models

Certification & Exam

By participating in the iSAQB® FLEX module, you collect credit points for the iSAQB® CPSA-A certification. Upon successful participation, 20 credit points in the Technical competence area and 10 credit points in the Methodical competence area will be credited. As a rule, the prerequisite for awarding the credit points is that you have attended at least 75 percent of the training.

The FLEX module is not a separate final certificate, but a building block on the way to the Certified Professional for Software Architecture, Advanced Level, CPSA-A. To be admitted to the CPSA-A exam, you also need the CPSA-F certificate, relevant professional experience, and a total of at least 70 credit points in the required competence areas. You can find further details on the official iSAQB® source for the FLEX module.

What You Will Achieve

After completing the iSAQB® FLEX training, you can:

  • Design: methodically plan and justify flexible architecture models for medium to large IT systems.

  • Apply: make architectural decisions that support rapid deployment, short feedback cycles, and adaptability.

  • Analyze: evaluate functional and technical requirements and derive appropriate architectural approaches.

  • Structure: organize complex systems into understandable architectural building blocks, interfaces, and responsibilities.

  • Evaluate: assess architectural models with regard to changeability, feasibility, and business value.

  • Document: record key architectural decisions clearly and make them understandable for development teams, business departments, and stakeholders.
